VOLUME & CONTOURING

Facial volume and structure naturally change over time. As collagen, elastin and supportive tissues gradually decline, areas of the face may appear less defined or slightly hollow, and the balance between facial features can shift.

These changes commonly affect areas such as the cheeks, temples, jawline and chin. A personalised treatment approach can help support facial harmony while maintaining natural proportions and skin quality.

What causes changes in facial volume?

Volume loss and changes in facial contour can occur gradually due to a combination of factors, including:

  • Natural ageing and gradual collagen decline

  • Reduction in supportive fat pads beneath the skin

  • Changes in bone structure over time

  • Sun exposure and environmental stressors

  • Lifestyle and genetic factors

As these structural elements change, the face may appear less supported or defined in certain areas.

What can treatments help with?

A range of clinically supported treatments may improve the visible appearance of:

  • Reduced cheek definition

  • Early volume loss in the mid-face

  • Less defined jawline or chin structure

  • Facial imbalance or changes in proportion

  • Subtle hollowing in certain areas of the face

Treatment recommendations are tailored to each individual. Depending on assessment findings, options may include treatments designed to support facial structure, stimulate collagen production, or improve overall skin quality.

In some cases, and where clinically appropriate, prescription-only treatments may be discussed following a comprehensive consultation and medical assessment. Suitability is determined on an individual basis in accordance with current regulatory guidelines.

How it works

Facial contouring treatments focus on supporting the underlying structures that contribute to facial shape and definition.

Certain treatments may work by restoring subtle support to areas where volume has changed, helping to rebalance facial proportions and enhance natural contours. Other therapies may stimulate collagen production or improve skin quality to complement structural treatments.

By approaching facial volume holistically, treatments can help create a refreshed appearance while maintaining the natural characteristics of your face.

What to expect

Consultation: Your appointment begins with a detailed consultation to assess facial structure, skin quality and your treatment goals. During this time we will discuss suitable options and determine whether you are an appropriate candidate.

Treatment Time: Once the treatment plan is confirmed, procedures are typically completed within approximately 30–45 minutes depending on the areas being addressed.

Comfort: Most treatments are well tolerated. You may feel small pinches or mild pressure during the procedure, and comfort measures can be used if needed.

Downtime: Some swelling, redness or tenderness may occur at treatment sites. These effects are generally mild and temporary, and most people return to normal activities shortly afterwards.

Results: Changes in facial contour may be noticeable soon after treatment, with final results continuing to settle over the following weeks as the tissues adjust.

A carefully planned approach to facial volume and contouring considers individual anatomy, facial balance and long-term skin health to support natural-looking outcomes.
